St Germain, rue Monsieur le Prince. The area has a pleasing Parisian feel rather than the faux tourist charm of elsewhere. Ate in a wonderful classic French restaurant last night - Polidor, just next door to our hotel. Found out this morning that it was a scene in the Woody Allen movie Midnight in Paris.
It has a tattered and paint peeling front, waitresses in black and white uniforms, red check tablecloths and it was packed with locals. The food and wine was simple but superb - tomato and mozzarella salad and a fabulous beef bourguignon. With wine it was 25 euro - the price of two drinks in a tourist hotspot.
